Supporting girls’ education and wellbeing: BlueCloud Digital makes it’s first CSR donation
On Sunday, March 23rd, our CSR Manager Lisa Greyson, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, visited New Hope for Girls and delivered our very first donation: a much-needed supply of cooking oil and flour, just as requested.
“GRP Connections are very pleased to have contributed to the launch of this initiative with James and his team at BlueCloud Digital” Ben Pinches Director at GRP Connections confirmed.
Weekends are always a hive of activity at the home, with everyone busy cooking, cleaning, and studying, so it was the perfect time for Lisa to meet more of the girls.
She also brought along a little gift, a book titled “When I Grow Up, I Want to Become a Pilot.” The story follows a young girl who, after spotting a plane in the sky, dreams of one day becoming a pilot herself. As it happened, while Lisa was reading to the girls, a plane passed overhead, a lovely and rather poetic moment that brought the story to life in a very real way.
Reflecting on her visit, Lisa said: “There are few things quite as rewarding as giving. As the old proverb goes, it’s better to give than to receive. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here in Tanzania and to represent the BlueCloud Digital team as we take this first step, made possible thanks to the support of Gabriella and Ben from GRP Connections.”
We’re now in discussions with Consoler Eliya and her team to plan our next site visit and donation in April, we’ll keep you posted!
